AI Optimization for templates
The article will walk you through our template AI Optimization feature, show you how to use it and key benefits for your deliverability
Templates AI Optimization is a Warmy.io feature that lets you compare email template versions in a controlled, data-driven way. Instead of guessing or manually swapping out templates and hoping for the best, you can now run structured experiments that surface clear, measurable results — and let the data guide your decisions.

Why It Matters
Traditional template testing is slow and risky. Making changes to a live template means sending untested content to real prospects, which can hurt your reply rates, sender reputation, and revenue if the new version doesn't perform as expected. With AI Optimization, you:
- Eliminate guesswork — compare template versions side-by-side using real deliverability data.
- Protect your reputation — tests run in a controlled warm-up environment, not against live campaign recipients.
- Iterate with confidence — experiment freely, knowing that poor-performing variants won't damage your active outreach.
- Save time — the AI-powered engine can generate and evaluate template variants on your behalf, so you don't need to be a deliverability expert to get expert-level results.
Key Features
Two Optimisation Modes
You can choose the approach that fits your goals:
Iterative Optimisation
Best for deep, progressive optimization. This mode tests one template version at a time across multiple iterations, progressively narrowing in on your highest-performing version. Each iteration builds on the insights of the last — ideal when you want thorough, step-by-step improvement over time.
Simultaneous Optimisation
Best for fast comparisons. This mode tests multiple template variants in parallel, giving you a quicker side-by-side view of how different versions perform. Ideal when you want to evaluate several ideas at once and move quickly.
You don't need to write every variant yourself. Warmy's AI can generate new template versions for you, informed by real performance data from your existing templates. If a generated variant isn't quite right, you can request a regeneration — only the latest version is kept, so your workspace stays clean and organized.
For each optimisation run, you get a detailed breakdown that includes:
- Overall deliverability rate for each template version
- Day-by-day statistics so you can track how performance evolves over time
- Provider-level breakdown to understand how different email providers respond to each variant
- Warm-up status and mailbox assignments
- Full body preview for every template in the test
This gives you everything you need to make a confident, informed decision about which version to keep.
Every template variant created during AI Optimisation is:
- Stored as a separate copy — your original template is never modified or overwritten.
- Linked to the original — so you always know which test a variant belongs to.
- Hidden by default in the main templates list — keeping your workspace clutter-free. You can enable a filter to view generated variants when needed.
All test templates are automatically assigned to the same mailboxes as your original template, ensuring consistent conditions across all variants.

Every AI Optimisation run moves through a clear set of statuses so you always know where things stand:
| Status | Meaning |
| Pending | Optimisation has been created but hasn't started yet |
| In Progress | Running normally |
| Paused | You manually paused the process |
| System Paused | Automatically paused due to an issue that needs your attention |
| Finished | Completed successfully |
You can pause, resume, or stop an optimisation run at any point. If you stop an Iterative run early, your most recent active template continues warming up — nothing is lost.
Smart Notifications
Warmy keeps you informed throughout the AI optimisation process:
- Warning notifications let you know if something might affect your results (for example, a mailbox sync delay), while the test continues running without interruption.
- Critical notifications alert you to blocking issues — such as no active mailboxes — and pause the test until you've resolved them. This protects the integrity of your results and prevents misleading data.
